Reclaiming The Country of Germany

Our team returned on Saturday night after a week of visiting, learning and praying with the pastors of 4 different cities in Germany. What we saw was a picture of God reclaiming the land in a country where He has been forgotten for so long.
Our visits to Chemnitz, Leipzig, Dresden and Berlin were encouraging for us and for our new pastor friends as we met with them to hear about their churches and neighborhood. In 3 of the 4 cities we found churches located in neighborhoods or buildings that were once used for communist government meetings or parades. One of the churches is being remodeled in a restaurant/theater that was once known and loved by everyone in that city.
We learned much about this country related to the history of a nation devastated by war, suppressed by communism and a generation growing up without fathers and in some cases mothers. Who could imagine the pain and suffering over the past 60 years. With the wall coming down over 17 years ago new challenges were faced by a people who have lived in a socialistic society that has provided for their needs in some ways.
Mike and Debbie Edwards with Reach Global introduced us to the pastors and churches they have been working with over the past 4 years. We were able to see the work, the challenges and the needs of those churches. We were able to pray with every pastor, some leaders and worship in 2 churches in German and English.
Continue to pray for the pastors, leaders and the work in Germany.

Before You Pack Your Bags... Prepare Your Heart

Our team has been preparing our hearts over the last 2 months by meeting weekly for prayer and talking about our focus. We have also been praying for our friends in Germany.
Friday we board the plane and are asking you and all our prayer warriors to lift us up as we travel, as we talk and as we meet new friends. May our words be uplifting, encouraging and may they bring hope to a country that really does not see the hand of God as active today.
We pray that our light may shine bright on our team and in our lives so that we may be attractive to those we connect with.
I know the plans I have for you says Jeremiah, plans for a future and a hope so you may know the living God. Pray for our team as we go.
